Investment Philosophy
Recognizing that every insurer has a unique set of goals, constraints, and liabilities, BBH focuses on developing customized investment solutions.
Insurance companies’ objectives are typically more complicated than simply maximizing after-tax income. Possible constraints may include unbalanced premium flows and/or reinsurance premiums, liquidity requirements to fund losses previously incurred or a desire to grow surplus at a desired rate.
Customized strategies can only be developed when a close working relationship exists between the insurance company’s management and the investment manager. A structured, well-defined client-relationship manager dialogue helps us to determine each client’s risk tolerance and business objectives.
By integrating these specific operating objectives and constraints into each investment plan, we construct portfolios that reflect our clients’ needs and help them achieve their unique business objectives.
