Founded in 1818, Brown Brothers Harriman & Co. ("BBH") is the oldest and largest privately owned bank in America. The Firm operates three primary business lines: Investor Services & Markets, Banking & Advisory, and Investment Management. The Investor Services & Markets division acts as custodian for close to $2.2 trillion in assets (as of December 31, 2009), and performs securities services for many of the world’s largest and most discerning asset gatherers and banks.
